Barcelona's thrilling 4–3 comeback win over Celta Vigo brought them one step closer to the La Liga title. But for head coach Hansi Flick, the post-match headlines weren’t just about goals — they were about two unhappy players: Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres.

❌ Ansu Fati lashes out after being benched
22-year-old Ansu Fati didn’t get a single minute on the pitch and responded by kicking a water cooler and throwing his bib in frustration. This wasn't an isolated case — he’s only started once this season in La Liga, with just 125 total minutes played across 20 matches, and zero goals.
Fans have expressed sympathy for Fati, who once carried huge expectations but has struggled for form and fitness.
✋ Ferran Torres refuses to shake hands
Unlike Fati, Ferran Torres started the game and even scored the opening goal in the 12th minute. However, in the 59th minute, with Barca trailing 1–2, Flick substituted him for Lamine Yamal, keeping Robert Lewandowski on the pitch.
Torres didn’t take it well and refused to shake hands with one of the coaching staff on his way off.
Statistically, Torres has been efficient: 10 goals in 25 matches, averaging a goal every 93.7 minutes — slightly better than Lewandowski’s 98.1 minutes per goal.
🗣️ Flick’s reaction
“I understand why they’re frustrated — I was a player myself,” said Flick. “What I don’t understand is how they chose to react.”
The German coach defended his choices, saying the result spoke for itself. “We came back and won. Fati and Torres need to accept that. The best way to respond is on the pitch, not off it.”
💡 What’s next for both?
With Lewandowski injured, Torres is expected to get more playing time in the upcoming matches.
Fati, on the other hand, still faces stiff competition from Raphinha and Yamal — and will need to stay patient.
Barcelona's next La Liga fixture is against Mallorca at home, followed by a high-stakes Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid just four days later.
